Outline

Enzyme Research Team
"Enzyme Research Team" aims to create "new functional enzymes" as well as to develop "new plants and microorganisms" to synthesize biopolymers. One of the final goals of the laboratory is to design and develop the novel functional synthases for practical and industrial uses to produce biopolymers such as oly(hydroxyalkanoate) (PHA) and polyamide/poly(amino acid).

Subjects

  1. Chemoenzymatic synthesis of poly(amino acid)/polypeptide to create structural/functional materials
  2. Structure-function relationship of structural proteins
  3. Organelle engineering for polymer synthesis by plant and phototrophic bacteria
